There's little better than stumbling across the unexpected and being enchanted by what you find. Essentially that's exactly what happened when I attended the launch of the Inchyra Arts Club in Perthshire. The immaculately renovated Byre at Inchryra House is to enjoy an entirely new existence as a music and events venue just a stone's throw from Scotland's fair city. To mark the launch a fund raising event was held at which a little known Norwegian singer songwriter was to perform.

Within the first few chords the young Nordic artist had the entire audience gripped to her modern, quirky and slightly folky music. Sporting a bright cerise pyjama style suit, the young, pretty and unreasonably talented Dagny delivered an hour long set of her own work, with one or two covers thrown in along the way, including an exquisitely executed delivery of Songbird. You could have heard a pin drop as her crisp melancholic tones left everyone moved.

Dagny's talent blossomed from a musical background in Tromsø and some of her songs reflect her experiences of home. Conveying hopeful optimism mixed with fragility, Dagny's voice is ideally suited to a wide range of and there is little doubt that we will all hear more of her folk-pop in the future. In the past few years she has been actively writing and performing both locally and internationally through her lyrics and music.

Dagny is currently understood to be recording her debut album. Watch this space and remember you heard it first from PJ Pan! Find out more about Dagny at wwww.dagnyofficial.com and listen to her on Youtube. To learn more about the fabulous Inchyra Arts Club visit www.inchyraartsclub.co.uk.
