Imagine our surprise to hear from a customer looking for pyjamas to match his fish!  After double checking that we hadn't misheard the request and we weren't the victim of an obscure prank, our dalliance with the aquatic world of fish in pyjamas began. Our task was to find a pair of pjs that would match a 'Pyjama Wrasse'.  A quick search on the internet and we saw the little iridescent fish sporting neon blue and red stripes.

Ultimately we had nothing that could exactly match the fishes neon stripes but our red and blue Egg & Soldiers checked fabric was considered to have the right ingredients. What the little wrasse makes of its owner sporting his new red and blue pjs remains to be seen.

This was certainly the most offbeat request we've had when it comes to matching pyjamas, where more commonly we supply coordinating husband and wife or parent and child nightwear. Before the enquiry we had never heard of a Pyjama Wrasse, which as we understand it is a quiet a secretive little reef fish that comes from the tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

It seems like this wrasse isn't the only sea dwelling creature to sport pjs - there's even another, quite odd looking fish, the Pyjama Cardinal. This little tropical number has a yellow face, black stripe down the centre and brownish polka dots on a pale rear - and we definitely don't have anything in our current range that matches the curious Cardinal!
